Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® Basic Class: This class is known as Part 1 of 4 Parts of Module I, in the hierarchy of JSD classes required for becoming a Jin Shin Do® Registered Acupressurist (see the official website of the Jin Shin Do® Foundation for Bodymind Acupressure®, http://www.jinshindo.org for a list of all Jin Shin Do® classes).
This class is held upon request, over 2 weekends, or 5 consecutive days, or one weekend day per month over 5 months. The class fee of $550 covers all 5 days of class, as well as a student manual, a text book, and two Jin Shin Do® Acupoint charts.
In the Basic class, students are introduced to Acupressure theories of Qi (Chi), Yin & Yang, Meridians, the Stange Flows (Extraordinary Vessels), the Pal Dan Gum (Eight Silken Movements), and Hara Breathing.
In the 1st weekend, students will learn 45 numbered Jin Shin Do® acupoints and 10 lettered acupoints, segmental theory, a local & distal point technique, and a body mind processing technique. And students will give, and receive sessions following provided Segmental patterns.
In the 2nd weekend students will review the previously learned 55 acupoints and will learn the points that lie along each of the 8 Strange Flows, along with their Coupled, and Master points. Students will then give, and receive sessions following provided Strange Flow patterns.
After attending the Jin Shin Do® Basic Class, students will receive a certificate of completion, but will not be authorized to use the Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® trademark until they have completed all subsequent required classes and other required criteria. However, students will be able to give effective acupressure sessions to clients immediately following the class.
